Seniors qualifying for the next Olympic Games, Tokyo 2021, will be interning at Ain Draham from August 5 to 26.
After a first 35-day internship in Ain Draham, the senior athletes qualifying for the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games will return to the site for a second rally, from August 5 to 26.
The athletes selected for this second gathering are: Abdessalem Layouni, Riadh Chenini, Amor Yahia, Mohamed Amine Jinaoui, Skander Jinaoui, Ahmed Jaziri, Talel Khalfi, Brahim Jéridi, Mohamed Farès Jelassi, Mohamed Amine Touati, Rami Balti, Maroua Bouzayani and Héla Hamedi . They will be accompanied by national coaches Yacine Bargougui, Fathi Arbi, Tawfik Souidène and Chokri Anène.
If Abdessalem Layouni (800m) had already achieved the minimum required to be able to participate in the Tokyo Olympics, the technicians still expect the qualification of 6 to 7 other athletes. The qualification period will start on December 1 and will run until June 29, 2021.
The pole vaulters at the rendezvous
The three pole vaulters, namely Dorra Mahfoudhi, Majdi Chehata and Seif Eddine Mejri will join the group in Ain Draham on August 12th. Supervised by national coach Ayed Berrahaiem, they will stay there until the 26th of the same month. However, Dorra Mahfoudhi will travel to France on August 6 to participate with her French club in a team competition. Note that many Tunisian athletes are signatories in French clubs. They enjoy competitions abroad while always being available to the national team.
Juniors on internship
As part of the preparation for the Arab Junior Championship which will take place with us next December, 45 athletes have been selected to do a preparation course at Béni M’tir from August 6 to 20. On the other hand, 40 young people born in 2005 will be gathered during the same period in Béni M’tir or Ain Draham, to prepare for international events, in particular the Youth Olympic Games postponed to 2026.
